The initiative was led by Nkanyezi Farming’s female employees, including Palesa Lenepa, an accountant at the company. She expressed pride in their role, saying:
“It’s an honour that as a small agricultural company, we can give back to our community. The donation we made’s not going to be a one-off thing but will continue to form part of other community projects that we are doing.”(turn0search0)
The team’s efforts were warmly welcomed by Sword and Spirit Ministries, which operates a local soup kitchen. Zolelwa Bala from the ministry noted the impact the extra support made:
“Giving back is part of what we stand for, and we encourage people to do so in their respective communities because this is also a form of sharing love.”(turn0search0)
The recipients themselves expressed heartfelt gratitude. Thami Mahlangu, who has been homeless for several months after losing his job, shared:
“The food was a lot; I didn’t even finish it and will save some for later…I believe I will be able to get a job. It’s hard living on the street, but having people like these, who give back to us, makes it a bit easier.”(turn0search0)
