MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Mr Jackie Macie, pays visit to families of GBV victims

VOSMAN – The Emalahleni Local Municipality, alongside the Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Mr. Jackie Macie, visited grieving families in Vosman today following recent “harrowing incidents” of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF).
The high-level visit was conducted to offer heartfelt condolences and support to the families mourning the devastating loss of their loved ones due to these acts of violence.
Representing the Municipality was the MMC for Corporate Services, Cllr Maseko, who stood in solidarity with MEC Macie and other key stakeholders to extend compassion to both the affected families and the broader community shaken by the tragedies.
In a statement following the visits, the Emalahleni Local Municipality reaffirmed its commitment to combating the crisis. The municipality pledged to work closely with law enforcement agencies, community structures, and relevant departments to safeguard the well-being of all residents. The Municipality urged members of the public to “stand united in condemning all forms of violence and to continue amplifying awareness in the ongoing fight against GBVF.”
