EMALAHLENI – The Office of the Executive Mayor, working through its Transversal Unit and in partnership with Exxaro Matla Coal, recently hosted a critical Albinism Awareness Program. The initiative was designed to provide guidance and essential support to people living with albinism and to parents raising children with disabilities.
The program successfully created a safe and open platform for dialogue, informative presentations, motivational sessions, and networking. These engagements allowed participants to share personal experiences, gain specialized knowledge, and connect directly with vital support systems.
The awareness drive demonstrated a powerful commitment to inclusion, strengthened by the collective involvement of local Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs), the municipality, and Exxaro Matla Coal.
In closing, the municipality reaffirmed its commitment to building a compassionate and inclusive society where every individual living with a disability is valued, supported, and empowered.
