The Emalahleni Local Municipality’s Wellness Department recently swapped office wear for Western wear, hosting a vibrant, cowboy-themed Women’s Month celebration that injected joy and unity among municipal staff.
The colorful affair served as a powerful metaphor for the month’s honorees. Embracing the spirit of the cowboy, defined by their ability to “get back up” after a fall, the event honored the courage, endurance, and unwavering spirit of women in the workforce. The atmosphere was electric, filled with song, dance, and creative attire, showcasing the collective appreciation for women and their invaluable role within the Municipality and the broader community.
Speaker of Council, Cllr Millicent Shabangu, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the strategic importance of such initiatives. She highlighted that wellness events are crucial for strengthening the workplace and uniting employees beyond their daily tasks, reinforcing the Municipality’s commitment to a culture of recognition and togetherness.
The celebration was deemed a resounding success, concluding on an inspired note as staff left uplifted, a testament to the power of workplace unity and recognition.
